RAF 1918, first pattern officer's cap badge, made by Gaunt.
The badge front is made from three gilt metal pieces riveted onto a metal backplate, with a balck felt backing sandwiched inbetween. J.R. Gaunt Patent Applied For, coin is fixed to this backplate. In a very good condition with slight wear to the gilt parts and a small repair to the felt edge (see photos).
