A hand painted WW2 era RAF 30 squadron plaque.
RAF 30 squadron flew Hurricane fighters up until 1944 when they converted on to Thunderbolt's. This wooden shield (size, 10 x 7") has a gilt metal kings crown and squadron frame which is all hand painted, and in the centre there is a fine hand painted palm tree with gold lettering around the edge. Probably, originally found in the officers mess.
In an excellent original condition, with wear to some of the paint as expected with age.
