RAF c-type leather flying helmet, largest size.
This leather flying helmet has an Air Ministry stores reference 22C/880, stamped on the side (see photos). This relates to a Size 4, which is the largest size made. It is in an excellent 'used' condition, fully wired with a very good internal wiring loom, a pair of type 32 receivers and bell/jack plug. The rubber earcups are still nice and supple and without damage. The outside leather is in excellent condition and the elastic chin strap is very good . The inside chamois leather liner is in a good condition without any damage, but it has some soiling due to being worn. Found in the inside are the wearers distinctive initials.
An excellent large size helmet.
