WW1, Royal Defence Corps metal & enamel cap badge.
Instituted to free up able bodied troops for front line fighting instead of home guard duties.
Older, less able bodied men were drafted into the service to guard ports, factories, railways etc....
This very nice badge has fine enamelling on a pierced metal frame.
It has a plain (no maker mark) pin back.
Size, 35 x 30 mm.
