A very fine linen gentleman's shirt retaining its original laundry mark "Robin 1821. 8".
One assumes he had several shirts and they were each numbered.
This shirt is typical of the Regency period. Stand-up collar with 2 buttons and partial front opening.
The sleeves fall gracefully from a dropped shoulder into a narrow cuff.
(Historically, the dropped shoulder is not meant to fit on the shoulder)
This shirt is in excellent condition with just one tiny spot on the lower front.
Measurements: length 35" from shoulder.
The sleeve length from the natural shoulder is about 26" - The natural shoulder width is abt. 17".
