A very good pair of chestnut brown silk boots with lace-up siodes. The origin is France ca. 1830.
It is fairly unusual to see boots of this type in any other colour than black or sometimes cream.
The original laces are present and the boots are lined in linen. The soles are leather.
The condition is good, with just two small pale marks and slight damage to one, where the silk meets the sole.
This is minor and is reflected in the price. Very nice display pair for the early shoe collector.
The boots measure 9 1/2" in length.
