Asleeveless Regency spencer in purple silk, suitable for study, collecting or documentation.

Sleeveless spencers were popular, and this appears to be an example of this style. The lining is royal blue, which makes an unusual contrast.

There is front opening and braids, and the base is frilled.

We are not sure about the purpose of the yellow silk strip, and possibly the back frill has been gathered into the middle of the base.

One front button is missing, one is damaged and the other two are fairly good. One other small button is missing to the top of the braid.

The collar is lovely and deep, but there is a small pale mark.

So not by any means perfect, but perhaps it may be useful for a collector, or it could be imporved and worked on. The colour is beautiful!

Measurements: Across high waist 13". from back neck to base 10"
