These blue and white slippers are in tapestry weave and are trimmed in blue ribbon, the fastening also in the same blue ribbon.
This pair is from the 1820s, and are fastened at the front in the usual manner. The soles are of thick vellum, so not hard-wearing, and the vellum gives a simple look.
However, these slippers are nearly 200 years old, and have survived remarkably well.
The condition is very good, and the measurement is 4 3/4" in length. An amazing survivor considering they were worn by a lively toddler!
The blue ribbon has faded a little. It would have been brighter.
