An interesting, Welsh, beechwood breadboard. This is late Victorian and it dates from c.1890. Many breadboards are carved with the word 'Bread' but this one is carved with 'Bara' which is the Welsh for bread. It is not often that you find one in Welsh. It is also carved with long, stylised leaves. Unfortunately the board has seen better days. The wood is quite marked, from use, and there are numerous woodworm holes. These have been treated and filled but they are still quite obvious.
