Clichy, Pink Glass Decanter

Clichy, Pink Glass Decanter

Code: K22953

SOLD

A very attractive, 19th century, Clichy glass decanter. The glass works at Clichy, which was then a superb of Paris, operated between 1837 and 1885, producing an interesting selection of coloured glass. They became famous for their paperweights which soon competed with those made by St Louis. This decanter, in a lovely, mottled pink and white glass, is similar in many ways to the English glass produced at Nailsea, near Bristol, in the 19th century. Both the decanter and the hollow stopper are in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Height 29.2cm. Diameter 13cm.
