A nineteenth century bubble and squeak chopper with a turned wooden handle. The steel blade is marked with a manufacturers mark but this is so worn that it is difficult to make out. It does include TAYLOR and SHEFFIELD. This shape of knife was designed for cutting vegetables over the edge of a frying pan. This was generally the left overs from the Sunday roast and it was known as bubble and squeak. This piece dates from c.1880. There is slight pitting to the blade and there is a small split in the wooden handle.
