A beautifully shaped, French copper sugar spinner. Sugar spinners were used for making fancy sugar decorations, with caramelised sugar, and they always have a very pointed spout in order to create a fine flow of the sugar but this is a particularly well shaped example. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, which has a slightly planished finish, has a fancy copper fitting and a turned oak handle. It dates from c.1870 and is in excellent condition.
