A set of six, Wedgwood bone china, shell shaped plates. Five are decorated with shells and one with waterlilies, all in coloured enamels and gilding. They bear various marks. All have a version of the printed, Portland Vase mark which Wedgwood always used on their bone china. Three are also impressed “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and one is impressed “ENGLAND”. The five decorated with shells all have a pattern number “X1277” in red script. All of these marks can be seen on the images of the reverse of the plates. They date from between 1870 and 1895. Each plate is hand painted and the decoration is quite charming. They are all in excellent condition.
