Code: FC0200
Dimensions:
An ornate, reclaimed, bedroom combination fire dating to the late Victorian era. The fire is well made and has a lovely design with a sunflower, vines and leaves in a panel under the mantel. On each side are two small panels with fern decoration. The smoke hood has repeating patterns with scrolls and leaves or flowers. The legs are fluted and have a column style design. The fire retains its front bars, grill and fire brick. The fire has two fixing lugs, one on either side, under the mantel for fixings to attach the fire to the wall. The fire has a registered design number on the back, RD 340893, dating it to 1899. The fire has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish.
The fire is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and some wear, as expected of antique items. The iron has some casting marks, pitting and indentations. The mantel screws do not sit totally flush with the mantel. There are some small knocks to the fire brick. The back has surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has an elegant and ornate appearance and it would add great period character to a fireplace.
