A very pretty, reclaimed, Victorian bedroom combination fire for DECORATIVE USE. The fire, likely to date to C.1890 - 1900, has a lovely design, typical of the era, with a bluebell wreath on the crossbar and bluebell swag chains that run down the top half of the legs. The fire has a small domed smoke hood with pretty wreath detail. The mantel has moulded side and front edges. The fire retains its shaped front bars, grill and fire brick. The fire has two fixing lugs, one on either side, under the mantel for fixings to attach the fire to the wall, the feet have small tabs and there are tabs at the back of the mantel for sinking into the wall. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish.

The fire has had a large break that has been repaired to a high standard, however the fire is now suitable FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY. The fire had a large break across its width, above the smoke hood, and it has been repaired using metal braces and a fixing putty. The fire is solid and stable but the crack can be seen on the front face and the repairs are seen on the back face. The iron has some casting marks and pitting. The fire brick has some small knocks. The back of the fire has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire is a very pretty and elegant Victorian item, ideal for adding period decorative character to a home.
