A very old reclaimed oak plank door, dating to C.1780. The charming rustic door has been constructed using three large oak planks and it has ledges on the back face. The door has been hand stripped on the front face to reveal the beautiful rich aged colour of the oak. The back face of the door is painted but the paint has flaking and chipping and you may wish to sand this face. The base of the door is uneven and a kickplate has been added to the front face to cover the gap and level the door. The unevenness can be seen on the painted side of the door.

The door is very rustic and has character signs of its considerable age. The door has splits and cracks in the oak but it is solid. The oak has some holes, knocks and gouges. There is a large scoop out of one side edge. One top corner has some damage and splitting that can be seen on both faces. There are some gaps between the planks. There are some holes and indentations from where hinge straps have been removed. The front face of the door has some areas with residue paint. The oak has some colour variation. The door height varies from one side to the other and the width varies from top to bottom. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a fantastic antique item with great rustic character and it would make a wonderful feature for a cottage or period home.
