SOLD

A pair of reclaimed, original, stripped pine Georgian shutters, C.1730. Each shutter has two panels, flat recessed panels on one face and slightly raised on the other face. The inner edges of the shutters have a rebated edge so they sit nicely together. The outer edges have a thin tongue. We believe the shutters were cut down from larger shutters at some point. The pine has been stripped to bare wood. The shutters are solid but have some signs of wear and some damage, commensurate with their considerable age. The shutters have some staining and discolouration. There are knocks, chips, scratches and splits in the pine but the shutters are solid. Some cracks can be seen. There is damage to the top of one shutter. There are some holes and some notches, especially to the rebated inner edges. There is some evidence of woodworm that is now dead. The panels have some splits in them. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters are a lovely example of Georgian design and would add fantastic period character to a window or the shutters could be used for an interior project.
