Dimensions:
A reclaimed oak fire surround dating to the 1920s. The fire surround has a simple Arts and Crafts design with a shelf and recessed panels along the crossbar. There is a central corbel and curved end corbels, under the mantel. The surround has had a waxed finish applied at some point and the wood has a nice colour and grain. The fire surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and some light damage, as expected of antique items. The mantel has some slight lifting at the back of the surround. The oak has some knocks, chips and some thin surface splits. The front of the feet have been repaired and the new oak sections have a slightly different colour to the rest of the surround. There is some paint residue on the outer sides of the legs. The mantel has some holes. The inner edges of the legs have some notches. The oak has some scratches and marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The surround is of a good size for a living room and is ideal for pairing with a cast iron insert. The surrounds simple and elegant Arts and Crafts design would suit many interiors and it would finish a fireplace nicely.
