An Art Deco delight!  This is a stunning Art Deco 'le Debut' combination compact by Richard Hudnut and dates to 1928.  This stylish compact comprises a powder well, rouge well and mirror.  It is octagonal in shape and has a beautiful enamel design to the top of the compact in green with a black and gold stylised flower to the centre and cream and gold accents placed randomly on the green enamel.  When you open the compact you see the powder well with its original puff and the back of the mirror which is signed 'le Debut Richard Hudnut', then you flip the mirror up to reveal the rouge well which also has its original puff.  The compact has its original finger ring to carry it and comes in the original box.  It is the epitome of Art Deco glamour and style. The length of the finger ring takes the height to 13 cm.

This wonderful Art Deco compact is in fabulous condition throughout with only age related light surface scratches to the body and one small ding to the base.  The enamel is in fantastic condition with no chips, dings or damage and the colour is vibrant.  The finger ring is in excellent condition.  The powder well holds a little residual powder and the rouge well holds more rouge and looks lightly used.  Both puffs are original and show some wear.  The original box shows significant wear to the outside but no loss to shape.  The inside of the box is in great condition and the 'le Debut Richard Hudnut logo is clear and vibrant.  The base of the box shows the original label which reads 'le Debut Vert, Naturelle powder, Medium Rouge, Richard Hudnut' although worn it is readable.
