This delightful silver and guilloche enamel powder compact is hallmarked Adie Bros Ltd, Birmingham and dates to 1927. It has a beautiful light lemon guilloche enamel top. Inside the lid holds a circular mirror and the powder well has a beautiful gilt finish and holds a metal godet marked Houbigant, France. It also holds the original puff. The hallmarks are clearly visible in the centre on the base of the compact.
* A godet is the name of the pan that contains pressed powder such as foundation.
This pretty compact is in excellent throughout. The body has some light surface scratches which are not noticeable. The enamel is in perfect condition. The mirror has some very slight background silvering which in no way detracts from the use of the mirror. The godet is in excellent condition with some surface scratches to the base. The puff is in original condition and has been used. The compact closes with a good click.
