A stunning Art Deco silver and guilloche enamel powder compact. This beautiful compact has a shimmering white guilloche enamel body bordered by a thin rim of russet red enamel. In the centre sits a marcasite and coral design, the coral carved into delicate flowers and foliage and this is enhanced further by the silver and marcasite sitting prettily to each side. Inside there is a small circular mirror and the powder well which is fully hallmarked. The compact is hallmarked Adie Brothers Ltd, Birmingham 1936.
The compact is in excellent condition throughout. There are some light surface scratches to the enamel as would be commensurate for its age and some light surface scratches to the silver. It opens easily and closes with a firm click.
