Original 1940s British Officers Khaki Drill Tunic

SOLD

An original British Army Khaki Drill Tunic dating from around the time of the Second World War.

As with many Officers items and Khaki Drill items it is impossible to date this tunic exactly. It is does however date from the 1940s and is typical in construction of those worn during the Second World War. It is made from a tan coloured cotton drill and features long sleeves, epaulettes, pleated patch pockets to the chest and lower bellows pockets.

The tunic is fitted with 1940s revolving shank buttons as were often fitted to KD and workwear items during this period. All are held in place with the correct brass split rings.

The tunic will fit someone of around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 15"
Outside arm -21"
Length - 30"

The tunic is in reasonable condition for its age with some signs of age and use. There is a rust mark to the rear as shown in the photographs but aside from that it displays fairly well.

A nice original 1940s tunic which would make a good addition to a collection.
