This is an exceptionally fine example of a Georgian ship's decanter. The overall shape is conical, although the cone is slightly concave.
The decanter is panel-cut for its entire height, but there are bands of horizontal ribbing. The neck has five ribs, and there are two further bands of three ribs each at the middle and near the base of the decanter. The base is star-cut, and the decanter has a bevelled target, or 'bull's eye' stopper.
Overall the decanter is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks and it will hold a full bottle.
