Dimensions:
A fine quality, mid 18th century Edo period Japanese serving dish (nagazara) of oblong form with inverted corners. The dish, in underglaze blue and white is with Chinese style sansui, water and mountain motifs with a contrasting brocade pattern of an elaborate arabesque of tako karakusa (Chinese octopus scroll) divided by a zig-zag border. The reverse is decorated with gobenka and tako karakusa motifs. Circa 1750.
Condition: good with no chips, cracks or restoration.
