C19th giltwood window seat / stool in the neoclassical manner, finely carved with crisp detail and original gilding; the slender turned end hand rails with acanthus carving and fluted decoration raised on scrolled supports with acanthus leaf carving.  The seat frame with a reeded moulding and cross ribbon motifs raised on turned tapering legs with stop fluting and toupe feet, headed with carved flower head paterae.  Finished on all sides, so can be used freestanding, the upholstered seat is in hessian and can be upholstered to clients requirements.  The gilding with appropriate wear, commensurate of age and use, particularly on the hand rails showing the lovely red bole showing through.
