Lisa Larson (1931- ) worked for Gustavsberg from 1954-80 and is now well known for her many figurative designs in ceramic including animal and people figures, wall plaques and decorated vessels. Many of her slightly cartoon-like and humorous designs were produced in popular series that are now widely collected. She also produced distincitive and highly original unique ceramic pieces and some sculptures. After 1980 she went freelance and set up her own pottery and still produces work today. Her work is especially popular in Japan as it fits with their pop culture style so well. Her work spans over half a century of creative innovation and is known throught the world as the epitome of the Swedish ceramic style.
