Kaj Franck (1911-89) was one of Finland's leading post-war designers bringing together beauty and function in everyday objects and interior design. An industrial designer in the fullest sense, he designed many objects for everyday use from ceramics to glass to cutlery that he wanted to be accessible to all. He was also prolific in designing art glass for factories such as iittala and Nuutajarvi Notsjo. He was a Professor at the Helsinki School of Art and Design and exhibied worldwide.
