Tigers eye and silver bead necklace by Heribert Englebert Sweden 1970s

This very attractive necklace is made up of alternating rectangular continental silver beads and ovoid tigers eye beads. It was made by the Swedish jewellers Heribert Englebert and is stampled with the Swedish control marks of three crowns and 'S', the makers marks HE and '835' indicating the grade of the silver.

Englebert, a Swedish jewelllery firm, is a family company which has been trading since 1920. Initially the company sold jewellery but from 1940 when Stig, one of the sons of the founder, became a goldsmith they started to produce their own items in the Stigbert studio.
