Viktor Berndt glass vase with etched/sandblasted abstract pattern, Flygsfors, Sweden 1950s. Signed to the base Flygsfors Berndt and dated 1-3-56.

Berndt joined Flygsfors in 1955 mainly to design glass lamps. He didn't take over from Paul Kedelv as art director until 1959. This is one of his earliest known pieces for them.

Excellent condition.

Viktor Berndt (1919-98) was a Swedish glass designer. He joined Flygsfors in 1956 and became artistic director there in 1959, a post he held until the 1974. He worked briefly at Orrefors from 1975-9. He is best known for his molded relief decings and glass lampshade designs. His work is held in museums worldwide.
