Green enamel brooch and earrings set A Michelson, Denmark 1960s

This brooch and earrings set are decorated with a simple abstract design in the fresh green enamel on silver gilt. The brooch is 7 cm long and the clip-on earrings are 4 cm. They were designed by Eigil Jensen for Anton Michelsen,

They are in excellent used condition with no chips or scratches. They are clearly marked with the Anton Michelsen logo, 'Sterling Denmark' and the designer's initials EJ.

Eigil Jensen (1917-2002) trained with the Hans Hansen silversmithy and designed for Georg Jensen. He worked for Anton Michelsen as a silversmith and production manager from 1943 to 1983.

Anton Michelsen (1809–1877) established his own company in Copenhagen in 1841. He became the royal jeweller, and exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1855. After his death, the company was run by his son and grandson. The company worked with many notable designers including Arnold Krog, Thorvald Bindesbøll, Arne Bang and Edvard Kindt-Larsen.
