SOLD

A rare pair of cauldron salts by one of Aberdeen's most celebrated 18th century silversmiths James Erskine. Both salts sit on three feet and have maker's marks on the bottom, which are "Three castles town mark", "hand holding a dagger", "E" and "IE". The salts are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. They are very scarce items with very interesting makers marks. These would not have had blue glass liners which was a much later addition to cauldron salts.
