A beautiful silver gilt table snuff box. With a cast top depicting a Greek mythological scene within a border of rococo scrolls. It is richly chased with an engine turned base and a blank cartouch. The 11 part hinge is tight and is well engineered so as to be almost invisable. The interior is gilded with hallmarks on the base and lid. The box was made in Birmingham by Thomas Shaw in 1827. The box is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
