A rare William IV silver vinaigrette with a cast top depicting Walter Scott's house at Abbotsford. It has an engine turned base and sides as well as a vacant cartouch on the bottom. The cast top is very crisp with only a tiny amount of wear to the high points. The interior has original gilding. The lid, base and grill are all hallmarked. The lids hinges are tight and it is well fitting. A very good castle top box.
