A rare George II Scottish silver bullet style tea pot made by Dougal Ged of Edinburgh, Assay Master Archibald Ure, 1736. Of traditional form, crest to centre for the Crawford family with motto TUTUM TE ROBORE REDDAM above, an engraved floral border to rim of hinged lid and outline, with a straight spout and S scroll handle, raised on circular stepped foot. A full set of hallmarks below the foot, generally in excellent condition for its age, there are no obvious damage or repairs. A stunning early piece of Scottish silver with a well engraved crest.
