A fine quality Victorian silver table snuff box made in Birmingham in 1858 by Edward Smith. The interior has original gilding and is hallmarked on the top and bottom. The 19 part hinge is tight and the lid fits well. The top has an inscription curiously dated 1816, along with the Porteous family crest and motto.
