Winter weight 'Kanal' (channel) jacket for use in flight over water. Measures approximately 44" at the chest (22" pit to pit laid flat). Constructed in dark grey-black suede shearling with a fleece lining and large cotton backed fleece collar. A single front zip runs from the waist to the neck and a narrow cotton canvas waistband closes at the front with 2 snap fasteners. Slash waist pockets with single press-studded closure straps, single grey leather map pocket at the chest and zipped cuffs. The overall appearance is good and most of the suede is in very good clean condition. There is a small stitched repair on the right arm and some small insect (?) holes but nothing major. The waistband is in good order, the label is absent but various ink stamps remain. Some wear externally at the cuffs but the concealed inner cotton cuffs are good and the press studded closure straps remain in place. Original WICO zips, the main zip has a couple of teeth missing but the slider will pass these. Beyond this point there is a 'wobbly' tooth that we have not attempted to pass*. Both sleeve zips function well and are complete with their original leather puller tab. Complete with collar strap. The main lining looks very good but the dark brown collar fur is moulting a bit with some small bare patches. A good example of a relatively rare Luftwaffe variant. Stock code J25170.
