October update news...

Wednesday 13th October 2021 at 10:03

Hello everyone,

Fuel shortages, CO2 shortages, toilet roll wars and warnings of empty toy shop shelves at Christmas.  Fortunately we have been unaffected, our stock levels are high, and we are planning two website updates plus our popular Advent feature, all before Christmas.  No queues, no limits, feel free to bulk buy & hoard!

It's long overdue but I'm delighted to announce the first update will take place this Friday 15th October from 20.00 hrs (8pm BST). There will be approximately 150 new items.  We have a few 'Home Front' items left over from our old 'Black-Out' business, a good range of flying clothing, flying helmets, goggles, boots, some interesting post-WW2 kit, RAF station equipment and general paperwork.  We expect the update to take around 90 minutes to complete but please be patient, we'll be going as quickly as possible!

As always, please remember that nothing is secured until you have completed the 'checkout'.  For speed, you may wish to checkout as a 'guest', or log into your account (if previously registered), and remember to refresh your browser to view the new stock as it is added.  If you order multiple items, any excess postage paid will be refunded once the orders have been packed.

Payment can be made online through our automated checkout using Stripe or PayPal (no accounts needed).  Select 'offline' payment to settle your bill using a bank transfer, cheque or credit/debit card payments via telephone.  If you do want to pay over the phone please avoid ringing whilst the update is in progress as we'll be too busy to respond.  Ideally, give us a call on Saturday morning.  If paying 'offline' please email and let us know.

Sadly we are still not routinely shipping to mainland Europe (EU) due to the significant delays and losses encountered since 'Brexit.' We are happy to review this on an individual basis and will ship subject to certain conditions (See below).  Customers are advised to contact us to discuss potential purchases before ordering goods. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Finally, please be aware that any orders received between now, Wednesday 13th October, and the update, will not be shipped until next week as final preparations are made.

Look after yourselves...

EU Sales Information

We have lots of customers in the EU & consider ourselves to be European.  Brexit, which we voted against, has been a disaster for us trying to send orders out to mainland Europe.  Some get through eventually, some get sent back to us so we have to re-send and pay the postal costs, and some get lost.  The worst case was a superb Luftwaffe parachute 'abandoned' by French customs leaving us £4500 out of pocket.  These are lunsustainable losses.

We will post to Mainland Europe if, and only if, the buyer agrees that they accept and are responsible for any import taxes that might be levied by their country, and that should a parcel go missing, they will not be refunded unless it is fully insured, and then only after a successful insurance claim is made. Additional charges may be necessary depending on which courier is used to send goods.  Payment for any order must also be made via  PayPal Friends/Family or direct bank transfer with the customer covering all costs.

This may seem hard but at the moment it simply isn’t practical to do it any other way.  Hopefully, thing will get better.  If you do want to order, just let us know, we will reserve the item and quote accurate postal costs for you.
