Stores reference 22c/969, size 1 (61/2 - 63/4).  Cotton drill helmet incorporating a neck flap at the rear to provide sun protection.  Intended for use in tropical/desert climates in the Middle East, Mediterranean, North Africa etc.  The material is in excellent clean condition with War Department broad arrow and stores code markings.  The straps are equally good and all retain most of their original finish on the press stud fasteners.  The left rubber receiver carrier is generally good but is a little mishaped.  The right carrier is more mishaped and semi rigid.  The helmet is lined in cream satin with the usual chamois donut earpieces, this is all reasonably clean and in very good order with size and AID markings.  Full internal wiring with a very good light tan instrument cord (loom), type 32 receivers (10A/12433) and a black cased type 119 bell jackplug (10H/10991).  The elasticated webbing chinstrap retains good colour and some elasticity.  It has a small fray on one edge as shown.   A good lightly used helmet.  Stock code H22991.
