A stunning 18th century Transylvanian dowry chest with carved detail of discs & geometric forms in semicircles to all sides but predominatntly to the front.
The chest is constructed of hand hewn beech planks with not one bit being stright and true, these in this condition with the carving are becoming increasingly rare, it has old ancient worm holes and repairs. This is a fantastic vernacular piece of folk art furniture.
