Antique Restorers Ltd are the leading furniture repair company offering gilding, restoration, French polishing, leather renovation and upholstery for antique and modern furniture.
* Gilding We restore the damage to your Gilded mirrors and picture frames, recasting and replacing damaged or missing sections in Gesso or carved gilt wood. We do complete re gilding or gild in sections and distress down to match the original finish in both oil and water gilding.
*Restoration We specialize in all woodwork repairs including veneers, cabinet work and carving. We can completely repair, hand colour and bespoke French polish your antique furniture and undertake “invisible” part repairs. There are many finishes achievable when French polishing. We will advise on an appropriate finish with regard to the individual piece of furniture.
*Leather Desktops We supply and fit replacement leather desktops. You can choose the colour and choice of tooling pattern and we will hand cut, colour and tool your desktop either in hide (cow) or Skiver (sheep).
*Upholstery Whether you require a full re upholstery service or simply wish to recover your old sofa we can help. From a reupholstered leather chair to a drop in seat, we can quote, supply the material or leather and advise on how much material you should order. We use traditional upholstery techniques to achieve excellence every time. We finish in single or double piping, close nailed or deep buttoning -you choose.
