19th century Venetian mirror in the rococo style with curved top set between re-entrant corners and flat base, also between re-entrant corners. The wide, blue glass frame is decorated with enamelled patterns of intricate and delicate curling leaves, stems and flowers and is set between narrow mirrored strips with scallop cut edges and a row of bubbles, each piece held in place with glass leaves, secured with little flower-topped screws. The decorative cartouche has curling acanthus leaves either side of a central blue enamelled shield-shaped decoration and more acanthus leaves rest along each upper re-entrant corner. The original, bevelled glass is in very good condition but there is some age in the bubble strips of frame as well as the glass acanthus leaves decorating the top and outer edges of the mirror.
