This early 19th century French mirror has a wide, watergilt frame which has two raised bands running along the outer and inner edges with a gently curved central area. Where the mirror has been cleaned for over 200 years, the red bole and cream gesso are showing through the gold leaf, giving the mirror a warm colour. The original mercury glass has wear in parts of the outer edges but also sparkles well and gives a good reflection.
