Large, antique, French rectangular mirror, circa 1840, with deeply outcurving, etched gilt frame decorated with a beautiful, scrolling leaf design. Both the outer and inner edges have a row of beading. The original, mercury glass has some age, mainly along the top and bottom edges, but also sparkles when it catches the light and gives a very good reflection. This handsome mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape.
