Gilt ropetwist framed mirror

Antique, rectangular, French mirror, circa 1880, with gilt ropetwist frame. Where the gold leaf has thinned through years of cleaning, the terracotta bole and cream gesso are showing through which gives the mirror a gently, warm colouration. The original glass has age in the form of little dark freckles but still gives a good reflection. This mirror can be hung portrait or landscape.
