Late 19th century French mirror with wide, layered silverleaf frame. Each band of the frame is a slightly different colour from the next, varying from dark pewter grey through to pale silver, giving this mirror a very attractive look. One of the inner bands of the frame has a delicate dark gold acanthus leaf decoration which adds an interesting contrast to the rest. The original glass has just a little light age and this handsome mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape.
