A very fine rare example comprising the crest of Earl Ligonier on scroll bearing his motto “Quo fata vocant”.

In 1878 the 7th (Princess Royal’s) Dragoon Guards, under Lt.Col. John Francis Burn-Murdoch, obtained permission to adopt the Arms, Crest and motto of General Sir John Ligonier, later elevated to an Earl.
