A late Victorian campaign chest.
A beautiful military officers chest with two smaller drawers above three larger, all with a wonderful patina & depth of colour. Raised on turned feet, profusely marked with the military issue broad arrow and retaining all original turned ebonised handles & brass lock escutcheons. The chest comes in two parts which would have allowed it to be transported when it was in service & now makes a good versatile piece of furniture for the home with great history.
Late 19th century
Wear commensurate with age, good solid condition overall with a few old repairs to the side panels & one drawer front which do not detract.
