Spode Porcelain Dessert Dish Landscape View Chapelizod Bridge c.1825

Very pretty Spode dessert serving dish in a stylised lozenge shape with shaped wavy rim and pierced detail at either end. The border at the rim is relief moulded and picked out in gilt against a white ground. The body of the dish is decorated with a plum-puce ground with relief moulded floral decoration and ribbons retained in white. In the centre ,double ringed in gilt, is a large very finely painted scene  of Chapelizod Bridge with a girl approaching the bridge with a bunch of reeds over her shoulder. 

The view is named on the reverse "Chapelized Bridge N. W." and with the factory name Spode also painted in brown enamel, c.1825.

It measures 25.2cm (10") long, 18.2cm (7 1/8") wide and 5cm (2") high. 

Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is a hairline in the glaze running part way down one side. Light surface wear only.
