Beautiful quality, steam-bent coat stand attributed to Thonet.
Also known as a 'porte-manteau', this is typical of the original design and comprises of 6 'S' rails for coats and hats and a secondary level for lighter items such as scarves/bags. Umbrella and stick storage at the bottom is supported with a continuous hoop. All of this stands on sturdy swept-away legs and is topped off by a decoratively turned 'beehive' finial.
