Charles I, 1625-49, Silver Halfcrown
Type 1a2, mintmark lis
Obverse: Armoured King on horseback facing left, sword behind shoulder breaking linear circle, no rose on housing, no ground line, with Latin legend surrounding: CAROLVS DG MAG BR FR ET HI REX.
Reverse: long cross fourchée over garnished square topped shield, with legend surrounding: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, S.2764, N.2201, Brooker 280.

Considered a much rarer type in the series. A superb detailed portrait of the King, lightly clipped around the legend, nonetheless a choice, bold good very fine example, with a pleasing old cabinet tone.
